My first metalworking project, completed as part of a fourth year furniture design class. Prompted to replicate a piece of classic Modernist furniture,
I chose a bent-plate side table designed by Pierre Chareau. The techniques of cutting, bending, welding, grinding and polishing learned during this
project have led to an ongoing interest with steel fabrication that continues to today.
